Description

A rich, chocolatey loaf that combines the gooey, fudgy texture of brownies with the ease of a sliceable bread. Swirled with homemade hot fudge sauce, this indulgent treat is perfect for dessert, special occasions, or even as a luxurious snack. Serve warm for the best experience!

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Brownie Bread:
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • For the Hot Fudge Sauce:
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Make the Hot Fudge Sauce: Heat heavy cream, butter, brown sugar, and cocoa powder in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat, add chopped dark chocolate, and stir until melted. Set aside.
  2.
  3. Prepare the Batter: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4.
  5. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold into the wet ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6.
  7. Assemble the Bread: Pour half the batter into the loaf pan. Drizzle half the fudge sauce and swirl lightly with a knife. Repeat with remaining batter and fudge.
  8.
  9. Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  10.
  11. Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm with extra fudge sauce or ice cream.

Notes

  • For extra fudginess, slightly underbake and let it finish setting as it cools.
  • Storage tip: Wrap tightly to keep it moist. Reheat before serving.

Add-ins: Try nuts, white chocolate, or even caramel swirls for variation.
