Description

A shortcut lasagna that’s as cheesy, comforting, and delicious as the classic—but with half the effort. Made in a slow cooker with frozen ravioli, rich marinara sauce, and gooey melted cheese, it’s a perfect weeknight dinner!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 (25 oz) bag frozen cheese ravioli
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or basil (for garnish)


Instructions

    1. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add ground beef or sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

    2. Add diced onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2 minutes.

    3. In the crockpot, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce. Add a single layer of frozen ravioli, followed by a layer of cheese (mozzarella, Parmesan, and ricotta, if using).

    4. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of cheese on top.

    5. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours, until the ravioli is tender and the cheese is melted.

    6. Turn off the heat and let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.

    7. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, mix some red pepper flakes into the sauce.

  • Swap ground beef for turkey or omit for a vegetarian version.

  • Letting the lasagna rest helps it set and makes serving easier.
