Description

A classic muffin recipe featuring ripe bananas and melty chocolate chips, these banana chocolate chip muffins are perfectly moist, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. Easy to make in one bowl, they’re great for breakfast, snacks, or even dessert. Best enjoyed warm, fresh from the oven!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with liners or grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Add melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture, mixing just until no flour streaks remain.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  7. Divide batter evenly into muffin cups, filling each ¾ full. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  8. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Enjoy warm or store for later!

Notes

  • For extra moisture, add ¼ cup Greek yogurt.
  • Swap chocolate chips for walnuts for a nutty crunch.
  • Best eaten warm—reheat for 10 seconds in the microwave.
